Methanol

The design of new and reconstruction of existing methanol production facilities has been a traditional focus of ALVIGO for more than 60 years. The company has its own methanol production technologies, extensive experience in the development, calculation, and design of the methanol synthesis process, the creation of software for mathematical modeling, and the development of equipment for efficient process implementation.
Depending on the customer's objectives, the availability of energy and raw materials, and the conditions at the construction site, the ALVIGO Group of Companies offers various options for gas preparation and methanol synthesis technologies. The methanol production facilities we have developed are characterized by high energy efficiency, low consumption figures, and maximum integration with other production facilities at the customers' sites.
We offer methanol synthesis technology schemes under pressures of 50-100 atm with various types of reactors:
• Reactor with cold bypasses;
• Cascades of reactors allowing operation without circulation;
• Combination of flow and circulation reactors;
• Tubular reactors.
Methanol synthesis using various feedstocks:
• Natural gas, associated petroleum gas;
• Coke oven gas, acetylene production synthesis gas;
• Synthesis gas obtained by coal, biomass, household, and industrial waste gasification;
• Tail and exhaust gases from other productions available at the customer's production sites.
Combined processes:
• Acetylene and methanol;
• Methanol and acetic acid;
• Methanol and ammonia.
Integrated schemes for natural gas processing with obtaining high added value end products:
• Natural gas-acetylene-methanol-formaldehyde-1,4-butanediol;
• Natural gas-acetylene-methanol-acetic acid-vinyl acetate.
